According to sources, Mark Trumbo is headed to Arizona in a three-team trade with the Chicago White Sox and the Los Angeles Angels.
Outfielder Adam Eaton will go from Arizona to Chicago, and pitchers Hector Santiago and Tyler Skaggs will go to Los Angeles. A source told the AP that the Diamondbacks will also get a player that is to be announced from each of the other teams in the trade.
Last year for the Angels, Trumbo hit a career-high 34 home runs.
Outfielder Adan Eaton would take over in center field with Avisail Garcia playing in right field.
@AdamSpankyEaton (Adam Eaton) tweeted: "Well, that escalated quickly."

Captain of the NHL team, the Toronto Maple Leafs, Dion Phaneuf has been suspended 2 games for a check from behind on Kevan Miller of the Boston Bruins. Phaneuf will not play on Wednesday against the Los Angeles Kings and Thursday against the St. Louis Blues, and loses more than $66,000 in salary.
Phaneuf hit Miller in Sunday's loss to the Bruins at Air Canada Centre in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. While Phaneuf hit Miller from behind, there was no boarding penalty called. Miller left the game, but Bruins coach Claude Julien wasn't worried about Miller's condition.
Phaneuf had a phone hearing Tuesday with NHL vice president of player safety (and former player) Brendan Shanahan and got suspended for 2 games. This is the Maple Leafs' fourth suspension this year.

Starting tight end Rob Gronkowski of the New England Patriots tore his ACL and MCL in Sunday's NFL matchup in the 3rd quarter against the Cleveland Browns. It appears that it didn't matter if the Patriots had Gronkowski or not because they had a comeback win with a score of 27-26. Gronkowski was officialy placed on season-ending IR Monday afternoon. Tight End DJ Williams, who the Patriots released last week, signed another contract with the Patriots and will fill Gronkowski's roster slot. Browns safety, TJ Ward, hit Gronkowski directly in the knee, as Gronkowski fell to the ground in pain. Running back Shane Vereen, who had 12 catches for 132 yards Sunday, figures to be more of a focal point in the passing game with Gronkowski out. Ward said Sunday that he hit Gronkowski low because he didn't want to get fined. Gronkowski was taken off on a cart, as he was barely able to walk from the field to the cart. Gronkowski already missed the first six games this season due to forearm and back surgeries in the offseason.
In conclusion, Rob Gronkowski will be out for the rest of the season.
